1983年毕业于广西师范大学化学系， 1988年在中国科学院广州化学研究所获硕士学位，2002年在英国Sunderland大学获博士学位。2002年10月至2004年5月在德国默克公司英国分公司从事博士后研究，随后成为该公司终身职员。2008年回国后，主持或参与了多项校级、厅级和国家自然科学基金项目。
