Biography: Professor Chen is currently appointed as a Full Professor at ACES/IPRI, AIIM, University of Wollongong. He completed his PhD at IPRI/School of Chemistry, UOW, Australia, in 2003. Professor Chen is a Chief Investigator of The ARC Centre of Excellence for Electromaterials Science. He has also been involved two successful spin-off companies, AQUAHYDREX; and INTELLIGENT MATERIALS (IMAGINE). His research interests include: Energy Devices, Catalysis, Electro-/Bio- Interfaces, Nano/Micro- Materials, and 2D/3D Electrode Design and Fabrication.

Research: Professor Chen’s research in ACES focuses on the design and development of active materials/interfaces for: Energy Systems via fabrication/assembly of well-defined porous 3D architectures Catalysis via design/synthesis of catalytic nano-/micro- interfaces Wearable Devices via developing printable ink/gel for integrated electrodes Sensing and Diagnostics via 2D/3D printing processes
