Vivian Dayeh’s focus is on undergraduate teaching in physiology, human anatomy and zoology. She has received numerous awards for her teaching and professional performance, including the University of Waterloo Outstanding Performance Award twice in 2015 and 2006, the University of Waterloo Distinguished Teacher Award in 2011, and the Excellence in Science Teaching Award in 2010. Dr. Dayeh's primary focus is on undergraduate teaching and joined the Department of Biology in 2004 as a full-time lecturer. Dr. Dayeh's research interests are in cellular toxicology and development of in vitro methodology. Her previous research investigated the use of animal cell cultures and protozoa as alternatives to the use of whole organisms in toxicology and the effects of different classes of toxicants at the cellular level.
