研究领域

I am an Associate Professor in epidemiology appointed jointly between the Mathematics Institute and the School of Life Sciences. I am also a member of the Warwick Infectious Disease Epidemiology Research centre (WIDER), a cross-disciplinary group who undertake research into understanding and predicting the spread and control of infectious diseases.

I am interested in using mathematical modelling to study problems in epidemiology and more generally in biological systems. I am particularly interested in situations in which stochastic effects play a critical role in the behaviour of the system. More specifically, I am currently working on modelling the transmission of Yaws (a neglected tropical disease), the impact of people who are systematically missed on the success of mass drug administration campaigns, the movement of cells during embryogenesis and ways to assess when we can safely stop disease control efforts without the danger of reemergence.
