Kevin Beach's research in marine plant physiology emphasizes evaluating and modeling the role of abiotic factors in primary productivity of coastal zones. He also pursues supply side-ecology to determine the role of sexual reproduction and dispersal on the population structure of marine plants. His current work focuses on the role that seaweeds play in the ecology of the Florida Keys reef track, and he has published numerous papers and presented talks on his research on marine algae in the Florida Keys and Hawaii.
