个人简介
Andrew Hulton is a Teaching Fellow in Sport and Exercise Science. He received his Master’s degree in Sport Physiology in 2004 from the department of Sport and Exercise Sciences at Liverpool John Moores University, before going on to complete a PhD focusing on pre-exercise nutritional strategies for intermittent exercise. He was a physiology laboratory technician and a sport science support officer prior to his teaching roles on the undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses at Liverpool John Moores University. Further to Andrew academic work, he is also an applied practitioner and has worked as a nutritional consultant at Premiership and Championships football clubs, and is currently a Physical Performance Coach at the FA, working primarily with the women’s U19s squad, where he has been a part of the support staff during two European Championships and an U20 World Cup.
研究领域
Andrew’s research interests are linked to training and nutritional strategies to enhance adaptations to inform practise and improve performance. Initial research themes focused on nutritional feeding specific to intermittent exercise, with this research aiming to maintain an ecological approach that can be applied to real sporting settings. Current research projects include the role of utility movements and changes of direction on training adaptation and potential markers of muscle damage, the use of novel hamstring strength testing approaches in an elite soccer environment, and the physiological and training load profile of elite motocross riders.
