研究领域
My main interests focus on cell stress and homeostasis maintenance, protein folding and identifying key roles of proteins involved in these processes in different model systems. My MSc project was investigating the localisation and potential functions of Hsp60 in and out of the cell in mammalian systems. My PhD project focused on identifying the function of a human protein implicated in a movement disorder, called Torsin A, in yeast and mammalian cells under stress or physiological conditions. My research associate project focused on manipulating microRNA to improve recombinant protein production and my first post-doctoral post was on understanding the mechanisms of prion propagation in yeast. My current project is focused on identifying the role of GTG proteins in plants and whether they have a conserved function across different species.
