个人简介
I have always enjoyed programming computers. While taking the Engineering Science program at the University of Toronto, I recognized the important role computers played in providing solutions to difficult engineering problems. Key to those solutions were accurate, reliable engineering models of physical systems and efficient computer algorithms to minimize computational effort while maximizing solution confidence. My initial research field was computational methods for petroleum and polymer phase and reaction equilibrium calculations. I still enjoy the challenges within this niche of thermodynamics. More recently, I developed an interest in creating computational models of proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells with a goal of understanding the relationships between land-channel geometries, current distributions, water transport and power consumption. This interest was fostered by a sabbatical leave at the Queen's-RMC Fuel Cell Research Centre in Kingston, Ontario, where a solid group of researchers are continuing to advance our understanding of PEM Fuel Cells, SOFC fuel cells and hydrogen storage techniques.
