个人简介

Luca Dell’Amico was born in Carrara, Italy, Tuscany. In 2010, he completed his M.Sc. in Medicinal Chemistry at the Parma University under the supervision of Prof. Giovanni Casiraghi, working on the development of novel eco-friendly vinylogous methods. In the same year he started his PhD in “Stereoselective Synthesis of Biologically Active Compounds” under the supervision of Prof. Franca Zanardi. In 2013, he spent a ten-months research period at the Center for Catalysis of Århus Univesity, Denmark, where he was introduced to the field of organocatalysis by Prof. Karl Anker Jørgensen. Luca completed his PhD with highest honours and the Doctor Europaeus mention at the Parma University in 2014. Shortly after, he moved to the ICIQ, Tarragona, Catalunya, joining the group of Prof. Paolo Melchiorre as a Marie-Curie cofund fellow. During this time he worked on the development of novel stereoselective light-driven processes. In the end of 2016, he started his independent career at the Padova University as an assistant professor (tenure track). Since 2022 is associate Professor in Organic Chemistry at the same institution. In 2022, he was awarded an ERC starting grant to investigate new mechanistic pathways in organophotoredox catalysis. His research spans from the design and study of novel organophotoredox catalysts to the investigation of stereoselective photochemical processes. Luca is an active member of the LGBTQ+ community, and since 2024 he is the official representative for the Department of Chemical Sciences in the STEM Equal Opportunities Commission of the University of Padova. Selected awards and distinctions 2024 Representative for the Department of Chemical Sciences in the Equal Opportunities Commission of the University of Padova. 2023 National scientific habilitation to full professorship 2023 Chem. 研究领域

Asymmetric Organocatalysis Small chiral organic molecules can be used to catalyse innovative synthetic transformations. We can use covalent or H-bonding enantioselective catalysis to access new chiral bioactive ingredients Mechanistic Investigations We use various spectroscopic and analytical techniques to elucidate the intimate nature of diverse polar and radical processes Photocatalysis Photocatalysis allows unique reactivity pathways, often unaccesible under polar chemistry. We use light to develop unprecedented reactivity and new molecular scaffolds
