个人简介

I am an Analytical Chemist and obtained my PhD in Chemistry from the University of Manchester under the supervision of Professor Royston Goodacre. In 2010, I took up a position of Postdoctral Research Assistant at the University of Glasgow. Then I was appointed to a lectureship in Analytical Bioscience at Nottingham in 2013.

研究领域

Biomarker of disease / drug discovery using MS-based global metabolite profiling Metabolic pathway profiling (targeted and stable isotope assisted analysis) Ambient imaging of biological tissues by mass spectrometry Absolute quantification using heavy atom labelled organism Metabolic flux analysis

My research interest is the method development for MS-based metabolomics in order to investigate complex biological and/or clinical problems. The method development involves metabolic quenching, metabolite extraction and LC-MS analytical conditions. These methods will be applied to selected cells or tissues for metabolite profiling to identify metabolic pathways, which are targeted by various perturbations. This novel methodology will then be applied to study specific diseases in order to monitor disease onset and progress, and to identify diagnostic biomarkers. These biomarkers can be used for new targets for chemotherapy and the development of new drugs.
