个人简介

Dr Robert D. Finn is a Senior Lecturer in Biochemistry in the Department of Applied Sciences. Robert studied for his honours degree in biochemistry at University College Cork, Ireland and stayed to complete his PhD in biochemistry under the supervision of Prof. Mary McCaffrey, investigating small molecular weight G-proteins of the Rab family. On completion of his PhD he continued to work with Prof. McCaffrey on a project investigating the post-translational processing of prion proteins. To further his research career, Robert moved to the University of Dundee in 2000, where he remained until taking up his post at Northumbria, working with Prof. Roland Wolf on cytochromes P450 and diflavin oxidoreductases. Dr. Finn is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the Royal Entomological Society, the Society of Biology, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Biochemical Society, Technolink Ireland-UK and a past member of the British Toxicology Society and the International Society for the Study of Xenobiotics. Additionally, Dr. Finn is a member of the editorial board for the Universal Journal of Agricultural Research, the American Journal of Pharmacological Sciences and SO Journal of Biochemistry and has acted as a grant assessor for the MRC and Innovate UK
