After completing her medical degree at UNSW, Dr Epps undertook her Junior Medical Officer training in Orange, NSW as NSW RDN Rural Resident Medical Officer Cadet. She undertook her training as an RACGP Rural Stream Registrar in Central West NSW, and continued practising as a GP and GP Visiting Medical Officer in the region. After completing her Diploma in Child Health, she relocated to Armidale where she took up the position of part-time Senior Lecturer in General Practice in the School of Rural Medicine, UNE in 2010.
