个人简介
In September 2014 I was appointed Lecturer in Chemical Engineering in the School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science at the University of Manchester. I was a Post-doctoral Research Associate in the School of Materials at the University of Manchester from June 2013 to August 2014, funded by EPSRC, working with Dr. Aravind Vijayaraghavan and Professor Peter Budd in the development of graphene-based membranes for bioalcohol recovery and CO2 capture. From 20011-2013 I worked as a Post-doctoral Research Associate in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London, funded by the ERC and BP-ICAM, with Professor Andrew G. Livingston, in the development of organic solvent nanofiltration and desalination membranes. I graduated in Chemical Engineering from University of Zaragoza (Spain) in 2005. In 2010, I obtained my PhD in Chemical Engineering also from University of Zaragoza, funded by the Spanish Research Council, working with Professors Joaquin Coronas and Carlos Tellez in the development of layered porous materials and hybrid membranes for gas separation
研究领域
The core of my research is to investigate new materials to develop thin films which can act as molecular sieves in membrane technology. More specifically my research focuses on the synthesis and characterisation of layered materials such as graphene and their application as membrane material in the fields of gas separation (GS), pervaporation (PV), and reverse osmosis (RO). Low flux and poor rejections are mainly hindering faster growth of membrane-based separations and thus, it is necessary to explore new routes of increasing permeability and selectivity. The combination of specific thin fillers and selective polymers can be the answer
