I obtained a BSc in Biochemistry and Immunology at the University of Strathclyde followed by a PhD at the University of York working on the activity and inhibition of the microbial ribosomal cytotoxin, colicin E3. A collaboration during my PhD led me to the position as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Universitaet Witten/Herdecke, Germany, where I worked on the inhibition of the 70S ribosome by the ribosomal ribonuclease, colicin E3. I then took a postion at the National Institute of Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC) as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist analysing novel vaccines for Health Care Associated Infections and Neonatal Infections. I started work as a lecturer at the University of Lincoln in November 2012. Department Responsibilities Within the department, I am responsible for teaching microbiology and immunology, running lectures, practical sessions and workshops.
