Kerry Blagden is a Senior Lecturer in the College of Science. Kerry is a Transition Support Lecturer and joined the University of Lincoln in October 2014 with the specific objective of supporting Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science and Life Science undergraduate students in their transition to Higher Education. She provides personalised and tailored support on an individual basis to students as the need arises, primarily in the areas of Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Mathematics and Biochemistry. Kerry is also responsible for delivering material to undergraduate students within the area of Pharmaceutical calculations within the School of Pharmacy. Prior to this, she worked as a teacher for over 20 years, including running a highly successful Chemistry department in a prestigious school in the North West for many years. She started her career by obtaining a BSc Special Honours degree in Chemistry and Mathematics in 1989, and a PGCE in Secondary Science Education in 1990, both at Sheffield University. Kerry has recently achieved the status of Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She has also started a part time Masters by Research within the School of Chemistry funded by the Athena Swan Back2Science Programme. Kerry has recently been awarded a 2016 University of Lincoln Individual Merit Award for her work within the department. Subject Specialism Chemistry, Mathematics, Pharmaceutical calculations.
