Andrei Natarov received his undergraduate education and Master’s Degree in Physics and Applied Mathematics at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in Russia. He earned his Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography and Scientific Computing from the University of Michigan in 2001. After postdoctoral work with the Department of Oceanography at the University of Hawaii, he joined the International Pacific Research Center (IPRC) to work on process studies in geophysical fluid dynamics and climate physics. His research interests include theoretical fluid dynamics, high-performance computing and oceanographic observations. He participated in a number of international research expeditions to the western equatorial Pacific and Indian oceans
