I have been a lecturer for many years, teaching a diverse range of topics in sociology and health and social care. My expertise is in the sociology of health and illness. My research has focused on pregnancy and the post-birth period. Research projects have examined maternal obesity/diabetes in pregnancy and the experiences of ‘older’ mothers.
I am now a Research Fellow on the Antenatal Prophylactic Pelvic Floor Exercises and Localisation (APPEAL) Programme. I will be carrying out ethnographic fieldwork to inform the clinical trial. Qualifications
