Before joining University of East London I was working in Public Health at the University of Glasgow. I have been working in public health for over a decade. I am especially interested in the preventative domain included in public health. I have been teaching and developing my key skills in epidemiology and statistics. I am a module convener for HS4105 Introduction to Epidemiology, which is a core Level 4 module on the BSc Public Health programme. In this module we equip students with the key skills of epidemiology and statistics which they require for their public health careers. I am also the module leader for HS5107 Global Health, which is a year an optional Level 5 module. In this module we explore the different health systems globally and try to examine and analyse why inequity and disparity in health still exists, I am an active researcher in sedentary behaviour (sitting time) and it is main topic of research. In addition, I am interested in health behaviours of individuals and especially ethnic minorities residing in the UK.
