I was educated in Belfast before coming to Dundee to study medicine. I have worked in Tayside and Sydney, Australia. My career changed direction in 2005 from emergency medicine to medical education. I am passionate about teaching useful skills to medical students and helping them learn effectively. I maintain my own skills by doing weekly clinics in medicine for the elderly.

My research interests include perceptions of simulation based learning in medical education, novel uses of simulation in medical education and teaching and learning for ambulatory settings.
