Following a period of Post-Doctoral research at UMIST (now the University of Manchester) into the characterization of enzymes found in thermophilic bacteria, I spent several years in Further Education before joining the University of Chester. During my time here, I have served as Acting Head of Department (Health and Community Studies), Programme Development Officer, Subject Assessment Officer and Deputy Head of Department (Biological Sciences). I am currently Programme Leader for the Foundation Degrees in Health Care Sciences and Mortuary Science, having previously acted as Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences degree
