Kandis Leslie Gilliard-AbdulAziz received her B.S. in chemistry in 2007 from Temple University, and her Ph.D. in chemistry in 2017 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to joining BCOE, Leslie post-doctoral work was completed in Prof. Gorte’s catalysis laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania. Research in the Gilliard-AbdulAziz laboratory focuses on combining DFT and machine learning with experimental techniques to nanoengineer and characterize novel heterogeneous catalysts for CO2 capture, pollution control, fossil energy and biomass conversion.
