Materials Chemistry, Nanomaterials, Solar energy conversion applications, Nanoscale electronics and photonics

Our research focuses on the development of novel functional nanomaterials. The unique advantages of nanomaterials offer a versatile platform for addressing fundamental science issues, and open up oppotunities for new technologies. The research carried out in our group include (1) rational design and synthesis of functional nanomaterials, especially one-dimensional nanostructures; (2) investigation of the correlation between nanostructures and their optical, electrical and chemical properties; and (3) exploration of their potential applications for solar energy conversion and utilization, microbial technology and energy storage devices.
