Professor Jan Hofman completed his MSc and PhD in Chemical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands, studying the flow of dilute emulsions through porous media. Jan worked for 25 years in water treatment research in the Netherlands at Kiwa, Waternet (Amsterdam Water Supply) and KWR Watercycle Research Institute. He was also a visiting researcher at Delft University of Technology. He was involved in many international research projects and has expertise in a number of water treatment processes, including sand filtration, activated carbon filtration, ozonation, UV, membranes, and softening.
