1992-1996: Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, The University of Tokyo. Awarded the degree of BSc in chemistry for a thesis entitled "Mossbauer studies on laser evaporated iron atoms and their reactions with oxygen in argon matrices". Work supervised by Professor T. Tominaga. 1996-1998: Department of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, The University of Tokyo. Awarded the degree of MSc in chemistry for a thesis entitled "Noble gas isotope analysis of mantle-derived minerals". Work supervised by Professors H. Wakita and K. Notsu. 1998-2001: Department of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, The University of Tokyo. Awarded the degree of PhD in chemistry for a thesis entitled "Origin of alkaline basalt volcanism inferred from noble gas isotopic systematics: Implications for mantle dynamics in back arc region of subduction zone". Work supervised by Professor K. Notsu. 2000-present: Assistant Professor at the Geochemical Research Center (former Laboratory for Earthquake Chemistry), Graduate School of Science, The University of Tokyo. Working with Professor K. Nagao on noble gas geochemistry. 2006-2007: Academic Visitor at the School of Earth, Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences, The University of Manchester, UK. Working with Professor C. Ballentine and Dr. Ray Burgess on noble gas and halogen geochemistry.
