I am a Lecturer in Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery, in the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, University of Portsmouth working in development of nanomedicinal formulations utilising biodegradable polymers and lipids. My research interests include engineering, synthesis, characterisation, and preclinical evaluation of novel nanocarriers for brain delivery of APIs and biomacromolecules, peptide delivery utilizing non-invasive routes and oral delivery of poorly soluble drugs. I have worked as a research fellow in University of Patra on an FP7 project (Nanoparticles for Therapy and Diagnosis of Alzheimer Disease project) and in the School of Pharmacy, University of London (UCL School of Pharmacy) on a EPSRC-GSK funded project on oral delivery of biologicals to the brain. I am a registered pharmacist in the UK and Greece and obtained my PhD degree in 2009 at the School of Pharmacy, University of London on oral nanoparticulate peptide delivery to the brain. My research interests include nanomedicines and their translation, brain delivery, biopharmaceuticals delivery, biomaterials and the self-assembly of macromolecules.
