Christopher Wigham is a Senior Lecturer at the College of Human and Health Sciences. Chris is Programme Director for the Healthcare Science programmes as well as teaching a number of modules in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathophysiology to a variety of programmes. He has a BSc degree in Biological Sciences and a PhD in Corneal Physiology, both from Aston University, Birmingham. He started his academic career as a Research fellow at the Welsh National School of Medicine, moving on to lecturer, senior lecturer and eventually Head of Department of Optometry and Vision Science at Cardiff University. Chris has a research interest in corneal physiology and membrane transport in epithelia. His current role is however mainly teaching and management. In his spare time he can be found making furniture and carving in wood.
