Jo Perkins was born in Hornchurch, Essex and graduated from the British School of Osteopathy, London in 1988. Currently, Jo is a tutor at the universities on-site osteopathy clinic - where she mentors our students. Recently, Jo has taken up a teaching role and will be involved in the Autonomous Practice sessions that students take on the M.Ost programme and setting up an Expectant Mother's Clinic. She also teaches at Cardiff Metropolitan University on the Complementary Therapies Degree Programme and also teaches for Teach Therapy for 10-12 days a year to complementary therapists.

Jo has attained to date, a diploma in Osteopathy (1988), Counselling Theory and Practice (1994) and has also completed the PGCE (2004).

In terms of research, Jo is interested in the areas of Paediatrics and Expectant Mothers.

Outside of university, Jo is learning Welsh and is highly involved in her church. She takes a Sunday school class for 7-11 year olds and also prepares lunch for retired folk.
