I am a mental health lecturer at the college of Human and Health Science. My particular interest is in Community Mental Health especially Primary Mental Health Support Services. I am passionate about soft skills in practice and recently completed an MSc dissertation ‘Emotional Intelligence in Nurse Leadership: An Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis’. The aim of this study was to explore what is known about Emotional Intelligence within nurse leadership, to examine the lived in experience of Emotional Intelligence in the nurse leaders and consider Emotional Intelligence training, to inform service change in healthcare.
