个人简介
My expertise is in protein biochemistry and membrane targeting, genetics, cell biology and molecular biology, encompassing a broad range of techniques and skills. Through the undertaking of my PhD and postdoctoral research I have gained extensive experience of protein expression (mainly plant, yeast and bacterial systems), purification, and detection (e.g. Äkta-FPLC, HPLC, immunoprecipitation, confocal microscopy), alongside characterisation (e.g. Western blotting, enzymatic assays, MALDI mass spectrometry) and in vitro translation and organellar membrane targeting and import.
I have a broad and solid knowledge of molecular biology and related techniques (genomic DNA, mRNA, cloning, RT-PCR, cDNA libraries, yeast-2-hybrid etc.) as well as confocal microscopy, cell culture and bioinformatics. I have experience in biophysics, namely TIRE (total internal reflection ellipsometry) to detect protein-membrane interactions, preparation of natural membranes and synthetic lipid bilayers.
研究领域
I am currently working on a project investigating the role of plant reticulon proteins in shaping the endoplasmic reticulum and the involvement of these proteins in plant virus uptake. I am further interested in the biosynthetic pathway of the plant growth hormone auxin.
