My research focuses on prokaryotic structural, functional and comparative genomics to understand pathways required for signal perception, communication, adaptation, symbiosis, and virulence. My current research investigates the genomic determinants within root nodule bacteria (RNB) that govern the establishment of a successful nitrogen fixing symbiosis with specific legumes. This research has a strong international collaborative context and involves 30 scientists from 15 countries across the globe.
