研究领域
My expertise is in the area of Physical Chemistry, Materials simulation and Computational Chemistry and involves applying an extensive range of methodologies including electronic first principles and forcefield / classical methods to chemical, biological and materials related problems.
My current research involves using computational and theoretical methods to
(i) develop gallium-based nano-catalysts,
(ii) investigate the stability and reactivity of metal complexes under physiological conditions and
(iii) design pigments for heat insulating coatings.
In addition to my own research group I maintain a number of collaborations both within Murdoch University as well as across industry (Bluescope Steel) and other institutions (RMIT University and Kyoto University). These collaborations include:
An experimental research project with Professors Bernie Dell (Agricultural and Fisheries Sciences, Murdoch) and Richard Harper (Agricultural and Fisheries Sciences, Murdoch) identifying and quantifying deep soil carbon in Western Australian soils,
A joint project with Professor Irene Yarovsky (RMIT) and Bluescope Steel designing Environmentally Responsive Clean Coatings,
A collaboration with Professor Sati Bhattacharya (RMIT) to investigate near-infrared pigments and
A collaboration with Professor Akitomo Tachibana (Kyoto) to explore the physical chemistry of main-group metal particles.
