Melanie Rathburn teaches biology courses in the General Science Program. Her scholarly interests are in both biology and teaching and learning. Melanie Rathburn's interests are in ecology and evolution with particular emphasis on sexual selection (mate choice and intrasexual competition). She is currently studying the reproductive strategies of Mountain Bluebirds to investigate how female fitness influences mate choice decisions. Within the scholarship of teaching and learning, Melanie is also investigating what strategies can help mitigate science and math anxiety.
