Rod started his teaching career in the UK, working in a high school setting and specializing in advanced and scholarship level chemistry instruction. He then moved to Zimbabwe, teaching in both government and private schools where he held positions of Head of Science and Assistant Principal. He moved to Canada in 2001 and started working at Mount Royal in 2005. He is currently the lead instructor for Upgrading Chemistry courses and teaches a number of first and second year credit courses including Industrial Organic Chemistry and the General Education (Controversies in Science) course. A major focus or Rod's work is to ensure that the courses he teaches maintain the academic standards required of university courses but at the same time are presented in a manner that is engaging and assists student learning and understanding.
