She is a Senior Research Fellow at Monash University, and has a continued research interest in the use of biomarkers in SLE. She leads a number of investigator-initiated SLE studies and clinical trials. Her current research projects in SLE include development of core set measurements for the Australian lupus registry, examination of ethnic difference in disease manifestations and impact of high disease activity on disease outcome. She also has a keen interest in developing patient-based assessment and management tools for SLE patients.
