The research group has two main areas of interest:

anti-fungal compounds - isolation and characterization of anti-fungal compounds from native aloe species for new therapeutic treatments

Our group has developed considerable expertise in HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography), and we regularly collaborate with Dr. Marcia Lee's Microbiology group.

floating treatment wetlands - monitoring the use of native, non-invasive plants that ride the water column (i.e., float) in order to reduce nutrient levels in ponds
