While obtaining his PhD, Richard discovered a passion for teaching during his time as a Teaching Assistant. As a result, he decided to pursue teaching as a career immediately after graduation.

Richard completed is PhD at Simon Fraser University, supervised by Dr. Hua-Zhong (Hogan) Yu, researching molecular silicon diodes. While working on his BSc, he also worked on developing non-lethal pest control agents under the supervision of Dr. Erika Plettner, also at Simon Fraser University.

In his spare time, Richard can be found home brewing, playing his piano, or enjoying interactive media. Education PhD (SFU), BSc (SFU)
