个人简介

Dr. Gregory Diette is a professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He holds a joint appointment in the Department of Epidemiology in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. His areas of clinical expertise include asthma and obstructive lung disease. Dr. Diette earned his M.D. from the Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and performed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Johns Hopkins. He received his M.H.S. from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. His research interests include environmental impacts on lung disease, epidemiology of airway disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. MD, Temple University School of Medicine (1990)

研究领域

Environmental impacts on lung disease; Epidemiology of airway disease; Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; Asthma

Dr. Diette’s research focuses on identifying factors that cause or provoke asthma. His team focuses on air pollutants (particulate matter, NO2, secondhand smoke) and allergens (including mouse) that are especially problematic in inner-city homes. They are studying the effects of these pollutants and allergens on inflammation and oxidative stress. More recently, they have begun examining how dietary patterns, especially a Western style diet, may increase susceptibility to inhalable pollutants and allergens. He is currently leading two clinical trials at Johns Hopkins. The first examines the effect of air quality on the adult asthmatic response and the other examines how improving provider-patient communication can reduce asthma disparities.
