David Appy received his B.S. in Biochemistry from U.C.L.A. in 2002, and received his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2005. Following a brief career as a high school teacher at San Pedro High School in Los Angeles, CA, David practiced patent law for three years with Tope-McKay and Associates in Malibu, CA, and is still a licensed patent agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. David returned to school in 2010 and received his PhD in Analytical Chemistry from Iowa State University, under Distinguished Professor of Chemistry Patricia A. Thiel. He accepted the position as chemistry lecturer at Iowa State in the summer of 2014. Not accepting students.
