Karen Pitchford registered as a pharmacist in 1993, having studied pharmacy at the University of Manchester. For the early part of her career, she worked as a community pharmacist and a GP practice based pharmacist before taking up a teacher practitioner post with Lloydspharmacy and Liverpool John Moores University. She joined the Leicester School of Pharmacy in 2002 where she teaches Pharmacy Practice and primarily Pharmacy Law and Ethics.
