Dr. Phillips is a professor of medicine, involved in every level of medical education, and is an active researcher. He is also a Clinical Advisor for Cardiovascular Health Nova Scotia.

His research has focused on treatment, outcomes, services delivery and knowledge translation. His collaborations are through the Canadian Stroke Consortium and the International Stroke Trialists’ Group.
