Dr. Imran graduated from King Edward Medical College (University of Punjab) and trained in internal medicine and endocrinology in the UK and Canada. Dr. Imran is a professor of medicine and is cross-appointed to the Dalhousie Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the Division of Neurosurgery, Department of Surgery. He is also director of the Thyroid Oncology and Neuropituitary clinics at the QEII Health Sciences Centre.

Dr. Imran's research interests include neuropituitary disorders and central adipokine signaling. He is actively engaged in both clinical and laboratory research and has over 115 publications to his credit. Dr. Imran is also a recipient of several peer-reviewed grants and is a reviewer of various scientific journals.
