Dr. Iqbal Bata’s research focuses on acute coronary syndrome and secondary prevention of major cardiac adverse events in patients with history of cardiovascular problems. His previous studies in myocardial infarction have led to a provincial program enabling paramedics to treat acute ST elevation myocardial infarction with pre-hospital thrombolysis and to the current clinical practice of initiating larger doses of statin therapy at the onset of myocardial infarction.
