Leonard Demoranville joined the Centre faculty in 2012 as visiting assistant professor of chemistry. Before coming to Centre, Demoranville spent time as a National Research Council Post-Doctoral Fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. His research there focused on the trace detection of illicit drugs using ion mobility and mass spectrometry. During his graduate work, he participated in the University of Maryland University Teaching and Learning Program, which trains future faculty members in the scholarship of teaching and learning. This led to his selection as a Lilly Graduate Teaching Fellow. Demoranville received a B.S. from Eastern Nazarene College, and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland-College Park.
