My name is Sharon Leigh Meng, and I will be your Lecturer in 2015 for MEDS12002 being Abdominal Sonography. I have currently been an accredited Sonographer for over 12 years now and previously an accredited Radiographer who worked with Queensland X-ray for 15 years. I have previously trained over 20 sonographers in the clinical environment and practised as the In-Charge Sonographer previous to the birth of my three (3) children. I have completed my Medical Radiation Technology Bachelor Degree (Imaging Major) at Queensland University of Technology (Brisbane) and my Ultrasonic Diploma via the DMU (ASUM), Sydney. My husband and I are Directors of an Electrical Firm, "Meng Electrical," based within the Mackay Region. Previous to my appointment as Lecturer I participated in Mackay Student Teaching Labs in 2012 & 2014.
