Hadi completed his PhD in 2014 at University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. Prior to that, he received his M.Sc. from Northern Illinois University at DeKalb, IL, and his B.S. from Sharif University of Technology in Iran. In fall 2014, he joined California Institute of Technology (and then Northwestern University) as a postdoctoral scholar. He joined the Chemistry Department faculty at California State University, Long Beach in Fall 2016.
