Dr. Joseph Gandler is a Professor of Organic Chemistry at California State University, Fresno. He earned a doctorate in Organic Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and was an NIH Postdoctoral Fellow at the State University of New York, at Buffalo and at Brandeis University before joining the chemistry department faculty at Fresno State

Dr. Gandler's research interest have involved the physical organic chemistry or organic reactions, especially applying multiple structure-reactivity relationships to elucidate transition state structures and reaction mechanisms.
