The investigation of the role of mechanical loading and extracellular matrix interactions on the regulation of signaling molecules in the extracellular environment of biological tissues. This are of research focuses on the progression and treatment of osteoarthritis, and aims to develop innovative molecular-based OA intervention strategies and novel strategies to overcome several of the major challenges in cartilage tissue engineering.
