Together with Prof John Draper and Dr Manfred Beckmann I am interested in developing standardised protocols for nutritional metabolomics investigations for monitoring metabolic changes in response to both acute and habitual dietary exposure. Techniques employed includes high throughput metabolomic fingerprinting based on Flow Infusion Electrospray Ionization-Mass Spectrometry (FIE-MS), accurate mass analysis using Fourier-Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Ultra MS (FT-ICR-MS) in conjunction with supervised multivariate data analysis (Principal Components Analysis, Linear Discriminant Analysis, Area Under the (Receiver operating characteristic) curve (AUC), and Random Forest) and ESI-MS signal annotation tools
