1991年毕业于山东大学药学院， 获医学学士学位。1996至2001年于中国医学科学院药物研究所获药理学博士学位。2001年获得美国国立卫生研究院Fogarty国际中心奖学金赴美，先后在美国国立卫生研究院药物研究所神经精神药理室和老年所神经科学研究中心从事神经药理学和神经退行性疾病的病理机制研究和药物发现工。 2008年至药用植物研究所从事神经药理学和中药药理学研究工作至今。

研究方向以天然药物对于生命体神经-免疫-内分泌网络的作用和分子机制研究为中心，具体集中于：天然药物对于学习和记忆、突触可塑性的作用和分子机制研究；天然药物对生殖、内分泌系统的作用和分子机制研究等。
