Ms. Siyuan Tian is a lecturer in the English Language Centre at BNU-HKBU United International College. She holds master’s degrees from Columbia University in Applied Linguistics and in Music and Music Education. With 12 years of study in the United States, Ms. Tian has a keen interest in second language acquisition and English for academic purposes. For 10 years, she has taught and designed language learning programs for preschoolers, teenagers, college students, graduate school faculty, and professional business consultants from Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, and the Americas. Ms. Tian is passionate about exploring the neurocognitive and pedagogical relationships between music and language. She has participated in professional development programs such as Harvard University’s The Arts and Passion-Driven Learning (APL) Institute and Columbia University’s The Full STEAM Ahead Academic Festival to explore ways of engaging students by incorporating arts into the classroom.
